Terms of service

Vowbird is a wedding planning app at vowbird.ai. These terms apply whenever you use it — the website, the app, and any mail it sends on your behalf. Using Vowbird means you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.

How we handle your information is set out separately in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

• You need to be 18 or older, and able to enter into a contract, to hold a Vowbird account.
• Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you, so tell us at hello@vowbird.ai if you think someone else has got in.
• You can invite a partner or a helper to your wedding. They get the same access to that wedding’s guest list and stationery as you do, so invite people you actually trust.
• Give us an email address that reaches you, and keep it current.

Vowbird is in early access. It is free while it lasts, and in exchange you accept that it is a young product: features will change, some will be rebuilt, and occasionally something will break. We are not promising any particular level of uptime yet.

When paid plans arrive we will tell you before anything starts costing money, and anyone who joined during early access keeps the early rate we promised them. Nothing here signs you up to a charge you haven’t agreed to.

Your guest list, your invitation artwork, your words — all of it remains yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, display it back to you and to the people you share it with, and send it where you tell us to send it. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

We won’t use your wedding, your photographs, or your guest list in our marketing without asking you first.

Vowbird can send stationery from your own email address once you connect your Google account. When it does, the mail is from you — so the responsibility for it is yours too. By using that feature you confirm:

• You have a proper reason to hold your guests’ contact details and to write to them about your wedding.
• You will only use the connection for your own wedding correspondence. No marketing, no bulk mail to people who aren’t your guests, nothing unrelated to the wedding.
• You won’t send anything unlawful, deceptive, or abusive through it.

Misusing the Google connection also breaks Google’s own terms. If we see it happening we will disconnect the account, and we may suspend yours.

• Break the law with it, or use it to harass, defraud, or impersonate anybody.
• Try to reach data belonging to another couple, probe the service for weaknesses, or work around its limits.
• Scrape it, resell it, or run it as part of your own product without our written agreement.
• Upload malware, or anything you don’t have the right to upload.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at hello@vowbird.ai rather than exploring it further. We will thank you properly.

We will keep improving Vowbird, which means features can change or be retired. Where something you depend on is going away, we will give you notice and a way to get your data out. We may also suspend the service temporarily for maintenance or to deal with a security problem.

You can stop using Vowbird whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@vowbird.ai from your account address. What happens to your data then is described in the privacy policy.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts other people’s data at risk. Except in a serious case we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Vowbird is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it correct and available, but we can’t promise it will always be either, and it is not a substitute for keeping your own copy of anything you can’t bear to lose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data, or a wedding that didn’t go to plan. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, during early access, is nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top, and email you if the change is a significant one. Carrying on using Vowbird after that means you accept the new version.
